CSU ID

CSU IDs are only assigned to students enrolled in academic credit courses. Students enrolled in noncredit courses will not be assigned a CSU ID.

As of Fall 2006, your Social Security Number (SSN) is no longer used as the primary identification number and has been replaced with the Colorado State University ID number (CSU ID). The CSU ID is a nine digit unique numeric identifier that begins with the digit 8 and is assigned by CSU's student information system. The social security number (SSN) will no longer be used as a primary identifier. All departments will accept only CSU IDs. As required, to fulfill federal financial aid and tax filing purposes, the University may ask for your SSN.

New students are requested to submit a SSN upon initial enrollment at the University. Your CSU ID will be assigned shortly after registering with us and appear on your registration confirmation.
