OSHER Lifelong Learning Institute

In partnership with the Bernard Osher Foundation, the OSHER Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University is an innovative educational program. The program is designed to help people 50 years of age or better, or anyone with a curious mind, renew their enthusiasm for learning in a relaxed atmosphere.

    See art through the eyes of those who create it - creativity, inspiration, and motivation.
  • Lunch and Learn Sessions - A Global Tapestry
    Examine selected issues of global consequence and look at how they impact the US.
  • Lunch and Learn Sessions - Great Decisions
    A revealing look at four of the most significant and far-reaching challenges facing the world today - United Nations, the US and Iran, Energy, and Human Rights.
  • Short Courses - 20th Century American Historical Perspectives on Current Issues
    20th century American history with a focus on gaining historical insight into today’s social, political, economic, cultural, and international challenges.
  • Short Courses - Geology and the Geologic History of the Colorado Front Range
    Give non-geologists the knowledge and skills to understand the rocks and geologic features of the Colorado Front Range (field trip included).
  • Short Courses - Five Plants and A Fish that Changed the World
    Discover how tea, cotton, sugarcane, quinine, potato and cod have changed lives and history.
  • Themed Lecture Series - Fort Collins Heritages Through Home
    History of settlement among four different ethnic groups in Northern Colorado, with a special emphasis on home.
  • Cultural Events - Jazz and Percussion Series
    A "behind-the-scenes" session where experts from the CSU Center for the Arts will share insights into three performances.
  • Short Courses - Developing the Actor in You
    From basic exercises and theatre games through voice work, scene study, and text and character analysis.

    Topics ranging from how a season is programmed, to the thousand colors in the strings, to what is a tone poem.
