Noncredit / Fall 2008 NEW

Delivery/Location: Fort Collins

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

This class will integrate seminal aspects of prehistory, history, geology, geography, plants, and animals to paint a portrait of the Colorado landscape as it has been to establish a basis of comparison to understand what it is now.

Aspects of mountain-building, glaciations, wildlife diversity, early explorations, and settlement patterns dependent on wildlife will all be discussed. Tidbits that texture this portrait include a fish that connects Colorado with the Sargasso Sea, a predatory fungus, and plants that turn the dinner table on animals.

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
