Delivery/Location: Off-Campus , Fort Collins
This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.
You have taken thousands of digital photographs—but now what? Take your photography to the next level. This class focuses on (no pun intended) digital cameras, tips to improve your photography basics, digital manipulation, and more. You will find out that size does matter - for pixels; that tripods help keep out the blur; and lighting and composition make for clearer, more interesting photos. You will learn basic editing strategies and discuss ideas for what to do with photos: organizing, sharing, displaying, and creating projects.
Course participants should bring (to both classes)
- A sack lunch (beverages and dessert will be provided)
- Your camera and its manual
- A few pictures you have taken that you think are really good and a few that were not so good. Bring photos on a flash drive or CD, or bring the USB cable that came with your camera so we can upload your photos - or bring hard copies.
In the sessions between the two class times, participants will be asked to take more pictures, using the guidelines discussed in class and experiment with Picasa 2, the free download editing software we will be demonstrating in class (or similar software that you may already have). After experimenting with this software, participants may ask questions, discuss concerns, or brag about accomplishments.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
