One course in political science, introductory course to natural resource management fields.
Description
This course addresses natural resources policy formulation from historical and current perspectives. It addresses traditional land use issues (forestry, range, wildlife, land, water, and air) from individual perspectives and using the holistic concepts of biodiversity which seek integrated planning and management. Students read about significant laws, court decisions, and policy; follow bills and report about the legislative process; and evaluate modern projects with a biodiversity goal.
Written assignments and two proctored exams are required.
This course can be applied towards the:

- Rangeland Ecosystem Science (M.S.)

Delwin E. Benson, Ph.D., is a professor and extension wildlife specialist in the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University. He teaches on campus about public relations in natural resources policy and takes students on field wildlife studies. He also teaches distance learning courses through Continuing Education.
