MU 156 - Guitar Class II

MU 155 (Guitar Class I).

Description

This is an intermediate guitar class for those players who want to expand their reading and technical skills, as well as learn how to play some new songs (moderate difficulty) from the acoustic repertoire. Topics to be explored include: tablature and note reading, chord substitutions, arranging harmony to support melody, bar chords, transposition, continued music theory, advanced chords, blues and rock improvisational system, fingerpicking, jazz harmony and alternate tunings. Text and guitar are required.

Tom Noonan has been a professional musician and teacher for 30 years. He has played guitar and banjo in various folk and bluegrass bands since 1970, in addition to being a solo artist. Tom has been teaching in Fort Collins since 1976 and holds a Master of Arts degree with academic emphasis in teaching adults and the history of 20th-century popular music styles.
