Oh, your aching back! Too heavy a load? Took a fall in the storeroom? Is it something serious?
This practical course will help you:
- figure out what an acceptable load is for you,
- teach you tricks for minimizing the effects of standing,
- share organizational tips to keep walkways clear and even help you recognize if you have a ruptured disk.
You will gain information that you can use to make a difference today. Designed for people who spend their day on their feet, lifting and reaching for merchandise, this course is for those who want to protect their back before incurring strain or injury. Come learn the fundamentals of good back ergonomics.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.

David Gilkey D.C. PhD, is a Certified Professional Ergonomist. He is Assistant Professor and Director of Undergraduate Education in the Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences at CSU. David is a skilled health practitioner with both a theoretical and practical knowledge base around workplace ergonomics. His areas of interest are diverse and include environmental and occupational human health, complimentary and alternative human health, construction safety and ergonomics, back pain and musculoskeletal pain syndromes among workers.
