Examine the creation and execution of power relationships, political engagements and communications in organizations. Learn how to understand your own political capacity as well as those with whom you work, and communication strategies useful for change agents.

Jerry W. Gilley is a Professor and Program Chair of the Organizational Performance and Change (OPC) Program at Colorado State University.

For six years, he served as Principal and Director of Organizational Development for Mercer Human Resource Consulting, the world’s largest compensation, benefits, and human resource consulting firm. During which he was responsible for organizational development, implementing change management initiatives, building high-performance work teams and designing a comprehensive performance management system.

He has authored and co-authored eighteen books including: Manager as Political Navigator (2006), Strategically Integrated HRD (2003), Principles of HRD, The Manager as Change Agent (2001), Philosophy and Practice of Organizational Learning, Performance, and Change (2001), and Organizational Learning, Performance, and Change: An Introduction to Strategic HRD (2000), which was selected the HRD Book of the Year (2000) by the Academy of HRD.

In 2006, he was elected the President of the Academy of Human Resource Development.
