This three night class is a jumpstart into the world of project management. Participants are guided through a step-by-step, detailed filled class with practical examples of project management methodology, tools, and techniques. This interactive class will help you understand the life cycle of a project and teach you how to initiate, manage, control, and close your project with greater success, no matter the size or complexity.
This is an instructor led interactive course that will show you how to:
- Apply basic project management concepts
- Understand the project life cycle and key processes
- Identify the scope of the project and how to prevent "Scope Creep"
- Learn the importance of risk, change, and communications management
- Learn how to implement project management techniques effectively
- Build stronger project teams
- Build a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to better manage the work of the project
- Effectively close the project and answer the age old question of: "Are we there yet?"
- Increase your success on your projects (large or small)
- Elevate your organization’s project management maturity level
PLUS - you’ll further enhance your learning experience by working as part of a team on real world projects to maximize your learning experience and test project results in a non-penalty classroom environment. It is fun, easy to apply, and will give you a head start on your current and future projects.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
Instructors
George Angel is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since July 1998 and an IBM Certified Professional Executive Project Manager. He has over 27 years as a successful project manager and over 39 years with IBM serving in several key areas such as, IT program manager, help desk manager, finance manager, and project executive.
George has a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Albuquerque. He served as President on the Board of Directors for Boulder County Special Transit and he teaches project management classes at Colorado State University, internationally for IBM, and is a professional speaker for PMI (Project Management Institute).
